![]() In addition, some of them are sharing the gospel and building people up. Our prayer group is mostly composed of sisters in their 70s and 80s, whom people consider old and useless, but they still try their best to pray for nations, missionaries and other individuals in need. But as long as they have a heart to serve Him, they will be given the opportunity. There are some who seem unable to do anything for God due to their circumstances. And since arrows are weapons that are made to attack the enemy, many of our spiritual children will be the soldiers to fight the spiritual battle with our enemy, the devil, and to win more souls. ![]() The more spiritual children we have, the fuller our quiver will be. When we bring people to the Lord, teaching them to love and obey Him, we are bearing spiritual children for Him. If we put the above two verses together, it means-– God is our spiritual Husband. Many faithful servants of God remain single with no children, but have numerous spiritual children. On the other hand, the “children” mentioned in Isaiah 54:1 also refers to spiritual children. God was encouraging His people through His prophet not to be discouraged, because the future Israel would be glorified! During Isaiah’s time, Israel was desolate and devastated. But how can a woman bear children without a husband? However, this verse refers to the glory of the future Zion (Israel). Psalm 127 seems to imply that the more children one has, the more blessed is he, but Isaiah 54:1 tells us plainly that she who does not have children should burst into song and shout for joy, and that she who has no husband has more children than one who does. “For your Maker is your Husband - the Lord Almighty is His name.” Shout for joy, you who were never in labor because more are theĬhildren of the desolate woman than of her who has a husband.” “Sing, O barren woman, you who never bore a child burst into song, Therefore, we can conclude that having numerous children of the flesh does not always refer to true blessing from God. And he succumbed to their temptations and was not faithful to God (but praise God, the book of Ecclesiastes and Song of songs which Solomon had written in his old age showed a penitent heart and his love for God). (At times, a wise man may be foolish in some ways). On the contrary, Solomon’s many foreign wives enticed him to worship idols. Solomon had 700 wives and 300 concubines (I Kings 11:3), countless children and grandchildren, but that did not mean he was more blessed than his father, David. However, as we ponder over this more deeply, there is a deeper spiritual meaning than meets the eye. These verses seem to agree with the secular view that having many children and grandchildren is a blessing from above. The arrows refer to children, and a quiver full of arrows means having many children. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are sons born in one’s youth.īlessed is the man whose quiver is full of them.”- Psalm 127-3-5 “Sons are a heritage from the Lord, children a reward from Him.
